I'm lifting my hands to you Lord!
Grasp mine into yours
Lift me up to a safe place
A place where I can talk about the wrongs I've done
A place where I can be myself and not have to worry
A place where I know I'm safe from danger

I'm Lifting my hands to you Lord!
Grasp mine into yours
Lift me up to a safe place
Show me wrong form right
Show me the difference between Heaven and Hell
Show me that anyone and everyone can be excepted in your heart

I'm lifting my hands to you Lord!
Grasp mine into yours
Lift me up to a safe place
Teach me how not to look so much on the negative side
Teach me that I can be who I want without anyone telling me
Teach me about all you know and what you can do

I'm lifting my hands to you Lord!
Grasp mine into yours
Lift me up to a safe place
Walk beside me Lord and lift me higher

The author's comments:
What inspired me to write this poem, was my boyfriends uncle Tommy! He has taught me so much from the time I meet him tell the time he passed on! Tommy told me that God accepts people for who they are and not what they have done, we are his children. He has taught me a lot about God! I thank him everyday for that. Plus this poem was written before he passed on. Tommy loved it!. . . He told me I needed to put my skills to the test. . . Show people what kind of skill I have, and publish my poem! So for him this is what I am doing! I want to make him proud of me!

I LOVE YOU UNCLE TOMMY! (TIO)
