I understand now...

A veil is lifted from the world
and I can finally see
where my feet land
as I tread this shadowed path
alone,
solitary,
quiet footsteps and the soft chatter of
the animals below, my kin.

nor a safe one...the most worthwhile journeys
are often the most dangerous,

harrowing,

resound in my veins with every
heartbeat, every breath; there is life
after death, we live on through
