"Forgive and forget, but don't forget why you're here."

Cause we’re two of those types of people
Who say the most in silence
No need for haste or indifference
I know that this is, all it has to be
To be one step closer to knowing me
Funny how sometimes it seems
Like I’m treading thin lines just to get myself right
Walking through cities of wonder
To map my goals in the steady stream of this winter night
It’s so easy to stand, clasped firmly in a quivering hand
Insecurity is a thing of the past
Its memory trails me softly but slows to a stop
As I leave it behind, and I don’t mind
That there’s nothing for us to say
Perhaps in the inspiration of another day
We could offer a simple remedy
Solving all the vacant troubles
With the erasing of the recurring question mark
Exploring the spaces in between, that set themselves apart
Who knew an exchange of words
Could be translated onto the human heart?
Yet running ‘round doesn’t help me to run away
I’m held back, taken prisoner by my past mistakes
I need a dozen keys to unlock these binding chains
And somehow I feel you possess what it takes
To make the haziness fade into total devotion to this
A cause to act, to feel, to let others see the way YOU see
Your thoughts, words and actions are an ever-present guide to me
You’ve got an unbroken focus
Confidence in the cause to create worldwide solace
More than that, to make a statement and be heard no less
If you’re going to dedicate to fighting bravely, why not put worth the best?
You may not be a widely acclaimed leader yet
But your road isn’t shaken by a lack of courage, doubt or regret
Please don’t dare to forget what was taught to you
When they thought that you could be anybody you desired to be
Tell them now that you’re headed there, and in the process, you’ve altered me
