Ice is a boundary between the cold water
And the cold air
Cracks in the ice
Are openings where water and air say hello
Because in winter they are apart
For 4 months out of the year
Almost forgotten
A forgotten love
All because of a frozen sheet of water
Jealous because it doesn’t get to feel
The kiss as the swift air moves
Across it searching for a crack
Wile water in wanting to burst out
And kiss the air but only to still be caught
Under the ice
A frozen love feels like forever
