Talent alone cannot make a writer. There must be a man behind the book.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Lurking through the darkness
I thirst for blood
Watching you
Waiting for the perfect moment
A scream escapes your lips
You’ve seen me
The hunt begins
Afraid and confused
You run aimlessly
Knowing the area
From many a month of planning
I quickly find you
Blood curdling calls
No one hears you
Just you and I
No one can help you now
A glistening blade meets your throat
Silence
Repeatedly I strike at you
Crimson ribbons wrap around your body
I smile at my new work of art
I walk off
Content and at peace
For now

There was a sequal but nothing ever beats a first. The poem arrived from constantly watching horror flics, and trying to think of a new story.
