Goodbye
The day was here,
Not anticipated, nor wished for.
My heart was aching,
Like a bleeding wound.
The sun was blazing hot
On the beaches of Lake-town,
Trying to cover up
The gloomy days ahead.
Tears were held back
By the Hoover Dam.
I wanted the day
To be a never ending day,
Like a winding river
Heading upstream
Traveling back in time
And reliving all the memories
That would soon be behind me.
The evening was quiet
Because we knew the end was near.
He pulled the covers over me
Tucked me in, kissed my forehead.
It was time to say goodbye.
