Façade
I sit back, and watch from afar
as you put that Band-Aid on your emotional scar
and you smile and live, like everything's okay
even though that's not true, and day by day
the Band-Aid starts to wear at its own pace.
And people start to notice the pain in your face.
So you try to explain that you're perfectly fine
when people offer help you continue to decline.
Your façade goes on though its killing you inside,
until finally, you just sit down and cry.
