I Should Ask Myself the Same…
We were just wishing we were somewhere else
Wishing we were someone else
We’re so clueless to who we are
We find ourselves in other people’s words
So unfamiliar
With art and beauty
We’re just so disappointed in ourselves
What can we do but
Turn our backs on creation
And on each other as well
How can I help but not feel like myself?
When I don’t know who I am
So many parts of me are absent
It makes me need to ask
Am I even there?
I’m unable to speak
With either confidence or doubt
I can barely think out loud
Maybe I just don’t have
Motivation or ambition
Maybe I have no vision
How can I see where I am
When the lights begin to blur
I turn and can’t see where I am
Or remember where you were
You sit ask yourself if you are alone
But is it that you just want to be
