"Where to, Miss?"
"To the stars."

Someone's talking
in the corner
Someone's drawing
on their hand
Someone's holding
hands with someone
Someone's reading
once again

Someone's throwing
pennies, quarters
Someone's chewing
Trident Mint gum
Someone's cutting
paper snowflakes
Someone's writing notes
in class

Someone's chewing
on their pencil
Someone uses
their pens to drum
Someone buttons up her jacket
Someone's putting
Chapstick on

Someone looks around
the classroom
Someone tries to teach
their class
Someone sighs while
shaking her head
Someone can't wait to leave
again

The author's comments:
I was looking around my classroom, and the disrespect going on amazed me. Everything in this poem was happening while my poor teacher tried to get the class's attention.
