I Will Always Be Me

ill always be the second best
ill always be your second guess
My heart perpetually beating beneath my chest
and I will always be me
seasons come and seasons go
white, ballooned clouds will release their snow
the wind will die and the wind will blow
and I will still be me
rain drops on my windowsill
for just a moment the world is still
i could resign if you thieved my power of will…
But that just wouldn’t be me.
