You remind me of a lion, with your golden brown mane and your eyes like fire. You remind me of a lion, as your heart is courageous and not capitulating to the merciless ways so many go by. Your heart is strong, and your beautiful, glowing eyes ablaze with the fire I recognize so well, waiting to prove your strength. Your mere presence is such an incredible gift. Your movement is like the wind; gracefully, briskly flowing by. Your beauty is almost unbearable. You are the heart of the lion.

The author's comments:
While reminiscing about what lions in the wild reminded me of, this poem formed within my mind. In many ways, african lions remind me of bravery, determination, strength, beauty and boldness. This poem was created while comparing a lion's brave and bold heart to one's only love.
