So I Run
I storm outside
Lace up my shoes
Lean over and stretch
And so I run
I start off cold and stiff
Gradually
I slip into that rhythm so familiar to me
Each step takes me further away
And so I run
Today has been another bad day
With each breath I heave
My anger slips past
And so I run
I see the neighbors
So friendly and dear
Their smiles are contagious
And so I run
Oh how I love
The crisp air
Cleansing my soul
The dark sky
Smothering me with comfort
And so I run
I start to get tired
But refuse to fail
So I stride
Longer, faster, harder
And so I run
The greatest feeling fills me within
I set a goal
I achieve my goal
The one constant in my life
And so I run
I near home
But am not ready to return to reality
And so I run
