Childhood remembrances are always interesting
If you knew mine
You always remember things like living in
Sandia Park with two brothers and one sister
And if you become famous or something
You never talk about how happy you
Were to have seen your grandpa four times
And how whenever it snowed
We couldn’t leave the house
Or how my best friend moved in 4th grade
Or when we moved
To Bosque Farms and
I had to start all over
And no matter how much
You talk about how much
Responsibility that you had
No one paid attention
Or how your dad kept
Switching jobs and went
Without work for periods of time
And it wasn’t that
I lived in New Mexico
Or even that I went to MVMS
But what really matters
Is when we are together
And that we enjoy life because even though
My childhood is practically over
I will always
Be able to look back
And remember that
My childhood was as good as it gets.
