Sun beating down like a spotlight

Framing nature’s course perfectly

She stares up peering into his worn face

Twisting her blonde hair in curiosity

Blue eyes flash toward a patch of hidden flowers

Fascinated by the fair petals that surround her

He crouches down on his knees

Describing every specific detail

About the tiny creatures below

Building lives on the fresh soil

She clutches the grasshopper

Placing it gently in her childish hands

Lightly tracing the patterns

She smiles her innocent smile

Claiming everything would be theirs
