Letter to Dad
Can't sleep. Body feels cold.
The pain has left me numb, and the stress has made me old.
You often say how you will never leave my side,
But we both know that you utter these words to save your own pride.
I hate the fact that I no longer know
The man who used to make my dark days glow.
I sit across from you, but you see right through
Wishing you were doing things that only please you.
You were my rock, my daddy, my clown,
But now you're the father who completely let me down.
