"It takes a second to say I love you but a lifetime to show it" " Love is like the air we breath. It may not always be seen, but it is always felt, used, and needed"

I watch how my parents look at me
It makes me sad, because I…
I think I am not what they wanted

They say I’m there pride and joy
But yet they are always yelling and
They look at me with a sad look

I never do anything right
I take pride in life and yet
I fight for what I want
I don’t let it go

I think my parents want
Me out, and leave far away
But they don’t admit it,
It starts to make me think,
Why was I born?

I wrote this poem on November 23, 2010. I looked at a young boy in a store who was getting yelled at for walking too slow, then he got smacked. I could not get that look in his eyes out of my head. It just looked so sad. It looked like he wanted to sit in a corner and just cry. I hope you enjoy this poem.
