O! to love again,
What a Hell it has been!
That flame that is more lasting
Than a life immortal!
That life that haunts us
Till Death’s cold arms we embrace.
That Dream of perfect love
That is crushed by all others.
Love is gone from my cold soul
It is dead to me!
Gone, never to return to
This creature of perpetual pity!
A haunting ghost that tortures
The very chambers of my heart!

This is just something I came up with in my free time. I would like you to know that although this is a sad poem, I'm not a sad person!

Wow. This is very intense and full of feeling. Your word choice is archaic (in a good way), which amps up the whole thing even more. l like it, and keep writing :)
