Fall Leaves

The leaves falling
Orange all around
The cold crisp air
And wind's the only sound

The leaves are bright
With warm thoughts and smiles
But look past those trees
See the darkness goes for miles

Slowly green fades away
A memory from the past
One you wanted to stay
But it wouldn't last

Fall's a different season
Besides it's color scheme
It hides the truth behind lies
The truth we don't all see

The wind whispers a warning
Telling you to be you
Don't get lost in what's not real
What you know just isn't true

The best part of fall
Is all the different leaves
They know they are but don't care
Fall reminds myself of me
