Her Final Words
Of those final last months of her life
Regret drew on her face
She was dying
Painfully, slowly, slipping away
From her friends, family, loved ones, herself
She tried to remember
What an imaginable life she had
She couldn't
She was a mystery to her friends
She tried to explain to them
They didn't, couldn't understand
How could they?
Life sat next to her in a chair
Watching the dying body in the hospital bed
She broke down, tears slide down her face
The same hospital bed that will become her bed of faith and prayer
The morning arrived
First snow spreading its blanket onto the world
A doctor sits in the chair that last laid her life, folder in hand
He had a sort of grin on his face, she knew what it meant
A painless death
