Goodbye, Joy.
I saw you sitting
on the name of some boy.
Goodbye, Hope.
Goodbye, Truth.
You were images
in the mind of some youth.
Your strings I held
for far too damn long
now they’re just ropes
to get tangled upon.
I felt them tighten,
no longer loose.
I can’t bear to look.
Each one’s a noose.
Who am I kidding?
Why did I even try?
I gave my heart
only to watch it die.
Hello, Sorrow.
Hello, Pain.
You are my friends
when no one remains.
Hello, Sadness.
Hello, Tears.
My only true friends
after all these years.
