I’m at this party.
Just a “friend’s” house
Surrounded by unfamiliar faces
Doing drugs I’ve never heard of
I’ve been drinking
Nothing seems to be right

This party is so loud
Almost unbearable
With the pounding bass in my head
The cops are going to come…

Everyone here has known each other for years
I know not a soul

I’m slouching here,
On a faded old couch
In the midst of all the chaos swirling around me,
There’s someone that’s playing the piano
He’s the only person that has made eye contact with me
In the past 4 hours now

Tonight was supposed to be a relaxed night…
I could get away from

The voices..

The people..

The problems..

Life…

I just don’t know what happened

At some point in a teenagers life, they will experience something along the lines of this poem. Probably not exactly the same, but the feelings will be similar. The feeling of wanting to get away from the stress and problems in their life and not knowing how to do so.
