These Four Walls

This house is not a home
These four walls do not protect
They confine torture and suppress
Souls are not free here
In this house that is not a home
This heart that beats is slowing
Faltering soon to be stopping
This soul is screaming
Dying to be set free
From this house that is not a home
Find a way to cut this chain
And these scars will fade away
The broken pieces will fit back together
And the memory will fade
of this house that is not a home
You will learn to love again
Trust will come easily again
The pain and hurt will drain away
One day when you get out
Of this house that is not a home
You see it in your dreams
This place where your soul can be free
A place where hope is never lost
It’s only just out of reach
When inside this house that is not a home
