I wish
I will stay in the dark
Wishing you back,
Needing your warmth in this cold night.
I'll pray for you
to come back,
To stay with me
Every day and every night.
But wishes may never come true,
This I realize now
You were my one true wish
And I'm still waiting to blow out those candles.
All I wanted was you,
No gold, no glamor, just you
But still to this day I thirst for you
And I'm still in this endless desert,
Stranded and alone.
There's nothing more to do
But say Goodbye,
It was good while it lasted
But all good thing must pass you by.
To a new beginning holds truth
New wishes,
All hope is not lost
Maybe this time my wish might come true.
