Broken Heart

I watch it fade into darkness,
Like sunsets into night,
I watch it fall into nothing,
Like birds hovering in flight,
I watch the darkness creep up,
Through all the spaces between,
Where you would stand by my side,
Where you can no longer be seen,
I watch you walk away,
As if you didn’t care,
With one foot in front of the other,
Leaving me here to stare,
Watching The Coldness enclose me,
The sound of footsteps ceases,
I stand here wishing you hadn’t left yet,
Leaving my heart in pieces…
