Don't Fade Away, Today
The sun shines through the dancing leaves
The ground flies under our feet
Her mane, my hair
The wind and the sky
It all makes me feel like I will never die
Time stands seems to stand still
But we must go against our will
To the harsh reality of life
Filled with pain and strife
I close my eyes and hear some chimes
Angels that sing for many lifetimes
I see them at the top of a sunlit hill
As fall comes in with a bitter chill
My friend and I like to pray
Pray for a day just like today
Her hooves thump rhythmically to my heart
As we race to our favorite spot
For that special memory sought
We pray for a day
A day just like today
Laughs all around
What a priceless sound
Can’t ask for anything better
Better than you
And me
You and me will be
Praying for a day like today
