My Bright Star
What happened to you?
Is it just me or
Did things just change suddenly?
The moments are now less than few
At times I would stare
Look at the brightest star in my world
I called, reached, even cried
But my bright star could not see, or care
My heart yelled out I love you! silently
But you couldn’t hear the silence
Just sat there, doing nothing with it
Soon, the alterations were made.
I sat in that silence for awhile
Hoping you would help me stand.
Now there is someone else
And you ignore me like a man passing a wall
My bright star has become the most distant.
From my perspective, you are nearly gone.
You make no effort to shine brightly for me.
This burden I hold will not even slowly become insignificant.
I only feel disappointment
I want you to see the real me
I need you to shine brightly again
You and I; a passing moment
A wave crashes onto the beach shore
The sun sets along the horizon
A moment catches up with time
All to leave like the star I once called mine
