A hundred years of history
and a hundred before that
All gatherin` and thinkin`
goin beneath this dusty hat.

The flames burns within him
Til his skin's cold as ice
The dues he paid to get here
Are worth every sacrifice.

All the miles spent sleepy drivin`
All the money down the drain
All the "if I's" and "nearlys"
All the bandages and pain.

All the female tears left dryin`
All the fever and the fight
Are just a small down payment
on the ride I make tonight.

It's guts and love and glory
One mortals chance at fame
My legacy is rodeo
And Cowboy is My Name.

I like this, as well. The overall feeling I get from this is the same that such a rugged, tired man would get. So I applaud you for articulating that. The wording is very interesting and creative. Well done, my friend.

Writers are a less dangerous version of the career criminal. Everywhere they go, they see the potential for the perfect crime. The difference is that writers have better self control.

I like it. I noticed from your profile that you're new to the site. Welcome.
