"Night Creatures"

The moon is covered with a gloomy haze
the bats and night birds are happy.
As I stare at the moon my eyes glaze.
Flying creature’s wings are very snappy.
They are on a hunt for food
stomachs grumble with monstrous noise.
The darkness changes their moods
they attack from their huntress poise.
Flying creatures swoop and grasp
mice and insects flee for their lives.
They are caught and they just clasp.
They have eaten and will thrive.
Bats and birds of the night
show how surviving is only a fight.
