Follow your heart.

Maybe I wanna be alright.
Set my soul against the rising tide.

I never thought I'd see the day.
When you'd look at me this way.
I don't deserve to see.
Such blissful energy.
Together we can be.
Much more than you and me.
But I know and you know that I'd disgrace us both.
So tell me.

How did you convince me that
You're the thing that prevents me from
Sighing, crying, lying, dying, denying, and making a mess of myself?
Something about the songs you sing.
And the happiness you bring by
Staying, swaying, playing, portraying, praying, and wiping my tears away.

How foolish can you be?
For wanting to stay with me.
That answer I do not know.
As I watch the tides ebb and flow.
I ascend my eyes.
Up into the evening skies.
You are an angel on this Earth that I don't deserve.
So tell me.

How did you convince me that
You're the thing that prevents me from
Sighing, crying, lying, dying, denying, and making a mess of myself?
You pick me up when I'm down.
You take the bad and turn it around.
Love, glee, harmony, ecstacy, all take hold of me.

You are the reason for my existence.
I gaze at something like sunset that glistens off in the distance.

I know I could never feel this for another.
We'll be just fine as long as we have each other.

You are like a peaceful melody.
One that sets my soul free.
You're loving, caring, sharing, and daring.
That's what makes you perfect.
Something about the songs you sing.
And the happiness you bring by staying, swaying, playing, portraying, praying, and wiping my tears away.

How did you convince me that
You're the thing that prevents me from
Sighing, crying, lying, dying, denying, and making a mess of myself?
Something about the songs you sing.
And the happiness you bring by
Staying, swaying, playing, portraying, praying, and wiping my tears away.

Maybe I wanna be alright.
Maybe all I need is you.

This is dedicated to a very special person in my life. The way this is written it could double as a song. Then again most poetry can be referred to as lyrics without a melody.

Actually, I've made plans for a book but because I'm so busy all the time these days I pushed it back until next April. I'm now also doing lyrical work for my brother's band, Plan For A Nightmare. I also wrote a song for Shayla Bates (a friend going on tour this summer.)

You should publish a book of all your poems keep writing. I love all your pieces can't wait until you make another. I'm gonna share this with all my friends. They're poem fanatics.

I've decided to never make a poem for a girlfriend ever again. Necause we broke up right when this was published. So unless I'm sure it's forever I'll never do it again.

You should give this to your new girl Erika. I bet she's the one you'd dedicate this too. Inspired by me, but for your new girl that'll accept you for who you are and who could be better for you than me. I hope it works out for you. Good luck my old teesoro
