"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." - Ghandi

My other half
My light at the end of the tunnel
My hope when I’m in the darkest of hours
The girl I’d follow to the edge of the Earth
And when I’m standing on the edge of the cliff ready to jump,
She’s the reason I don’t
She’s my soul connection
When she’s gone, a part of me is missing.
And even at my worst, she reminds me that I’m beautiful.
When everyone at school hates me,
There’s one girl who always loves me.
When I reunite with her, the brokenness inside me starts healing.
This girl has not proven her love with a gift,
But by being who she is.
She’s the person who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.
Two hearts, one love.
My best friend.
We’re completely different.
There’s one reason why we’re exactly the same.
We were brought on to the Earth for the same purpose, to be best friends.
We laugh more than we breathe.
We run through the garden spraying each other with the garden hose.
We grow up together in the house that built me.
We walk back through time together
We walk through this place called Earth together, and we’ll exit this place together as well.
We talk about being friends forever.
We don’t live forever.
Our friendship extends past mortality.
It’s bigger than life.
Fate?
Maybe.
Magic?
I think so.

My best friend inspired me to write this piece, while we were going through a hard time. This poem reminds me how she's always there no matter what we ever say to each other, or how ever much we hurt each other without meaning it. I hope readers will learn to find the message that almost every one discovers over the course of their lifetime: If a friend is true, all of the above statements will prove to be true also.

I love your writing and will definitely stay updated on your writing! This is extremely touching.

This poem is extremely touching. The words created very vivid images in my mind, even though you weren't extremely descriptive. You illustrated beautifully the wonderful love of friendship. And so I thank you a million times for writing this.
