The Face of Imperfection

I am the face of imperfection,
My sins are my collection,
I know I’m free,
But I am me,
And therefore, I am bound,
I want to be saved,
For my soul to be found,
I know I’m not the only one,
But I cannot see the golden sun,
For it is hid, behind a cloud,
Behind the smoke, behind a shroud,
I’m drowning, smothered,
My faith in God, covered,
But the grace of God, revealed,
And the love of God, unveiled,
He wraps his arms around me,
And now he has saved me,
I’m reaching out; I’m reaching towards him,
For in the past, I have ignored him,
But still there’s grace, and still there is love,
I can see it shining, from far up above,
And I grab his hand, and I am free,
Freed by Him, from the bonds of me…
