the glowing red of the bloodlust moon
red of a newborn phoenix plume
dragon's fire, red with hate
seeing red to storm the gate
red stain of the gemini wound
behind red mirror doors I lie entombed
to the slaughter pact in red ink
just pools of red for the blade to drink
a red feast to keep the mind awake
but a fed red hunger will never break
such a red life is all I have known
with too many red souls now in tow
I need a new color from mixing just red
so I can rewrite my story with that instead.

The author's comments:
this accompanies -the red mirror door- and I suppose it directly follows those events. a bit of a reversal of them, actually, but it uses a lot of the same symbols.

the end of this poem is also sort of a joke with myself about how, although this was a very emotional time, I wrote a LOT of very bad poetry and was highly uninspired.
