Stairwells and Farewells
Do you realize that I still love you?
Do you realize that I haven’t forgotten
the feeling of you next to me,
and the sun pouring through the window
as you told me I was beautiful?
Do you realize what you mean to me?
I may never get to kiss you again,
but I can still say that you were there for me when I felt alone.
You were there when I was afraid of changing.
You were there, whenever I needed you.
Do you realize that even when I pretend to like another guy,
your blue eyes stay in the back of my mind?
Do you realize how I felt when you said goodbye?
You said you would wait for me in heaven, or hell,
Or reincarnation if that’s how it works.
You said you’d find me.
Do you realize that you engraved your initials on my heart,
And left it there?
Do you realize that I still love you?
