Love poem

My love

My love,
your peaceful gaze
fills my soul with joy
and your beauty
overwhelms me with happiness.

My love for you
burns with the heat of a thousand suns
and I cannot imagine a world without your light.

I love you more
than air or any other useless things.
I compare love to a rose
sitting in a field of thorns
all pristine and full of luster.

My love,
I pray that you
will accept this token of love
because if you don’t
I will wither away and die
like a rose in the winter.

I wrote this poem for a girl I liked back in 10th grade but I never worked up the courage to talk to her or even give her the poem.
