Sea Glass
One night, one man, one too many
one beach, one bottle, one tide
the stars, the moon, reflect on the water
blurred by the breaking waves
a sudden crash, breaks the calm
as glass meets rock
silence
the roll of sea smoothed stones
as the shards slowly slip out of sight
unnoticed by all
the sweet taste of salt air
as the water laps a young girl's feet
with her she carries a basket
full of her newfound treasure
a glint catches her eye
and there, on the sand, she spots it
sea glass
