Night is like a deep blue velvet cloth
Sewn with diamonds
Floating in the sea
Of a vibrant sunset of flame
As the sun is serenely and suddenly
Silenced
The burning fire of its departure is
Extinguished
By the deep waters of night
The moon glides into view
A pearl in the chaos of embroidered diamonds
Mars charges in on a raveling thread
A hurtling sphere of glowing courage and ferociousness
As the threads of the blue velvet water
Of the midnight sky
Weave together
And come alive
