A New Direction

Distracted by the silence of the dark
My only comfort at the time was the blade
Such an eerie sight; the reoccurrence of scars
I searched for ways out as they began to fade
So one night I looked up; saw nothing but stars
Wondered what was up there and of what it was made
This deep thinking sparked self reflection
I concluded I would take a new direction

At the time I wrote this, I was getting over an incredible amount of stress and depression. I couldn't stand being trapped by my own mind, so i began to search for ways out. Poetry was one of them.
