You Are
Curve of the waist,
 not enough,
 “You're beautiful.”
 Fingertips stroke pallid skin,
 riding the contour,
 as a small hill
 over my stomach,
 a small hill,
 disgusting,
 “I placed it there.”
 Wet hair twists and flips,
 in all the wrong places,
 around a face,
 with too much cheek,
and a nose that could cut,
 mishapen,
 “Amazing.”
 Legs not long enough,
 knees abstract-strange!
 “A work of art.”
 Why can't I be beautiful?
 “You Are!”
