America
This is the world that we live in
When connoisseurs of rotten grapes
Suck down 50-dollar cigars
From the front seats of their Porsches
And tell you to appreciate the little things
While vacuum-sealed Carolina debutantes
With as many preservatives in their faces
As in their pre-portioned Jenny Craig meals
Hold two-star galas for Africa nad AIDS
And they show us what life is like
On the top, keep us wanting more
Than we can afford, unaware that they live their lives
Like fad diets on Oprah
So Average Joe in front of the TV
With a beer in one hand and a Bible in the other
Can beat his kids in the yard because he never left
That two-star town
But the Hippies and Commies and Muslims
Have no place here in the land of the free,
Home of the Whopper, where freedom is expensive
But prices are lower every day.
