They look upon me as
if I'm so strange...as if I
don't notice them sizing me up
in such a manner.
They share the same jokes,
borrow each others' clothes,
and choose each other over
the outsider who merely looks
in and try to explain to myself
why I will never
be allowed inside.

The answer stares me so
clearly in my willfully ignorant face.
I'm different--I'm the black sheep
of the group who is an insult to
be compared to with the prom queens.

During game time, trust is not earned,
but created through friendship.
The second I leave the court, a
ball zooms to my position that is
now occupied by a barbie.

A team like mine is created much in
the way a dodge ball game is: you're
always judged and given your "status"
by exterior means, not interior.
