What would you do if all the vowels ran away?
If they took a vacation just for a day?
You couldn’t refer to yourself
Because “I” wouldn’t exist
I wouldn’t be able to cry for “you”
Because “you” wouldn’t exist either
If “I” was talking to “you”
Nothing would be talking to Nothing,
Nobody to Nobody
I would miss you for that day
I hope the soft, solicitous breezes
Would sweep the vowels back our way
So that you and I could run away
Take a vacation just for a day
