The talking heads and faces on
Youtube, radio, and TV
Lovers, friends, coaches and parents
All talking as fast as can be
Everyone is always talking,
The words are always flowing
But do they mean what they say?
I have no way of knowing
Politicians are always preaching,
the newscasters opine
They say whatever they need to
To make their ratings shine
When the boy pours out his soul
With words to make me melt
I do not know if I believe
That his flowery prose is heartfelt
Life’s a sea of empty words, I fear
Can you trust anything you hear?
