What if we were to hear an angle
What if it were to sound
Like a banshees scream
Would it answer the question?
We are all too afraid to ask
What if we could see one of the pyramids pharos?
And we were wrong
About the Egyptians
What if we could smell
The ashes
As they covered Pompeii
Forever quieting a great civilization
And what the people knew
Could have changed the world
What if we could hear
The sound of the famed
Dinosaurs
Stampeding away
And we realized that the same fate
Would come to us
What if we could feel
The sands
Of the ancient Roman Empire
And withhold their fall
First hand
What if we could know
With certainly
Everything that exists
We would have no questions
Nothing to ponder
Could people live like that?
Or do we need
To believe in our gods
To research and explore the Pyramids
To know that we can survive
To not rely on the past to make the present
To forget about why the Romans fell
But remember why they survived
During life
There is no way of assuring
People of the truth
Because there are no certainties
About the past
However
We should try and secure
Our world’s future.
