The Chaos Apple
Yesterday came and passed
Lately I’d been cooped in
Like a chicken during winter
The Apple grove
Just outside my window
His riper apples
In all the land
One calls my name
“Come, Come!” it sings
Luckily I’m a sickly girl
Locked inside my room
For the golden apple
Call for me again and again
“Come here child, nothing will happen to you!”
No, I shake my head
Deep breaths help me relax
I step away from my window reluctantly
My heart has been taken over
As a puppet and master
Barely able to contain my desire
I hit my head on the
Wall nest to the window
Now the apple laughs at me.
