Progression
Dawn and Dusk don’t
come in just a flash;
the sky’s colors change as slowly as
sand grains change places
in a dusty hourglass.
I watch time pass,
not too fast,
perhaps,
even too slow
to suit my needs.
And seeds!
The gradual change from night to day
is like a seed that makes its way
from below the ground
to the free rein that is air.
How profound!
But what if the hourglass stirred fast
And seeds grew in an instant pass
And Dawn and Dusk came in just a flash?
Simplicity at last?
