Its Game Time
The blue sky rays flash
As I tare my first swing
The cheers of laughter echo
I look up and watch the softball
Fly slowly through the air
I run as I feel the sweat drip down
Its game time and I’m the last to go
The bases are loaded, the game depends on me
The crowd and my teammates roar as I run
Softball is one of my greatest memories
I can still feel the smooth
Ball smack against my bat
The cool air rushing around me,
My team mates cheering
Spitting out sun flower seeds while we’re in the pits
I can still feel, hear, and smell all of it
The crisp hot dogs at the stands for the fans
The cheerful people rooting for our team
I can remember all of it
Inning going on and on forever
Me being the one that steps up and goes for a pop fly
The ump yelling---She’s out!
As we go back into the dug out,
My team says how wonderful the catch was
And in that moment, I was on top of the world,
With all the confidence that I needed to bat another inning
