Downtown
Limousines and city scenes,
You’ll be mine in the Chicago skyline,
Pass me by the midnight lights,
Their glow is all you know.
I know that you’re here somewhere,
Hiding while the skyscraper’s stare,
And maybe soon you’ll come around,
Then we’ll fall in love,
Downtown.
And up here, I can’t see the stars,
So they can’t guide me, but I hope you’re not far,
Although the buildings block my view,
I wish they wouldn’t block yours too.
A lonely feeling, I defeat,
While i’m on such a busy street,
Through the crowds, I push right through,
In the city, I hope to find you,
Maybe soon you’ll come around,
And we’ll fall in love,
Downtown.
