There once was born a child,
Brought into the world with one single scream.
And as that child grew,
She grew into a beautiful young woman.

And when she grew,
Her accomplishments did as well.
And with her growing accomplishments
She learned the duties of life and how she must teach them.

When she taught them,
She learned love and how to share it.
And with that love,
She found her true love.

Her true love loved her dearly,
Every day he woke up next to her.
And that love grew into everything she’d ever hoped for,
The love she’d always dreamed about.

And the dreams she dreamed were always the same.
The dreams that took her back to her glory days,
The days she remembered most,
The days filled with her accomplishments.

Since the accomplishments were in the past,
And not in the present where she was now,
She assumed there was something missing from her life,
And the way she lived it.

Then something unexpected happened,
She found that missing piece that she had been longing for.
And she and her true love,
Were happy once more.

There once was born a child,
Brought into the world with one single scream.
And as that child grew,
She grew into a beautiful young woman.

We had an assignment to write a shadow of a Walt Whitman poem and my inspiration thought of this poem.
