My Unsteady Hands, Your Unsteady Knees
Dad
I have always wanted to share with you
Share my burdens, my baggage
So many times I glanced at you while you slept
Wondering if your dreams were better then this reality.
Wondering if you dreamed things weren't as controlled
and perfectly constricted by a love;
intertwined with lies and disloyalty
So here it goes
The things she use to say,
thinking there was nothing wrong with it
the money, your livelihood, kept the years going
but the truth is eating you alive.
And me..
I have always hated the fact
Its been publicly ruled how much of a fool you are
and not one has stood for you, not even you.
I can't keep trying to fix this
It's only got me distance and unsteady hands,
Unsteady hands that can't reach out to you anymore
Your eyes are closed and head turned away
I've got to walk away now,
My last gift is this picture of us and note saying I love you
My wish for you is to get off your knees and finally face your demons
If not, I still will always be here...with this note when your ready
I wish I could send this to you now, no guts though, until then, it ll just be a piece of art.
