Favorite Quote:
laugh when you can, apologize when you should

& let go of what you can't change

kiss slowly, play hard, forgive quickly
take chances, give everything & have no regrets.
life's too short to be anything but happy

Sleep
For many, a chance to rest
For some, a chance to dream
For all, a chance to see
See
See what?
For a few, sleep will never be a relief
A chance to relive
A chance to redeem
But never a relief
Haunted by memories that seek the night
Hunted by people, hurt by their fright
A night terror, but for some its real
Memories
Memories fade?
Not a chance when they are relived in sleep
Not a chance to move on
Not a chance to move past
Memories, aided by sleep
Take away the chance to rest and dream

The author's comments:
This poem was inspired by the sheer terror and the nightmares that I have seen people who suffer with PTSD and who have experienced traumatic events suffer.
